How to import Video_TS Folder into iMovie for editing?

How to import Video_TS into iMovie? So I have a DVD copied onto my MacBook which is in a Video_TS format. I want to put it into iMovie to do a bit of editing. But iMovie doesn’t support Video_TS, so I need to know how could I convert and import Video_TS folder into iMovie? Any suggestions?

Most video DVDs have two folders in the root directory – AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. The VIDEO_TS folder contains all the DVD's video data and playback information. The VOB files which are included in Video_TS folder contain the actual video, audio, subtitles and menus. If you already have DVD uploaded onto your hard disk, what you are trying to do is to import VOB files in Video_TS folder into iMovie. Unfortunately, iMovie only accepts a couple of formats: MP4, MOV and MOV. So you will need to convert Video_TS to a format that is compatible with iMovie.
